The Next Lawyer In The White House? Black, Woman, Gay?
LawFuel Blogs
The Spitzer 'Affair' , if we can call it that, brings to mind the adage that people who live in glass houses have poor sex lives. Not if you're Eliot Spitzer, apparently, but without getting as sanctimonious as Spitzer was when it came to convicting felons, let's consider another former US Attorney General and his aspirational political popularity.
Charlie "Chain Gang" Crist, former Florida attorney general took a hard line on crime, like Spitzer, and has fought swirling rumours that the good looking, deeply tanned lawyer may be homosexual. Who cares if he is (which the briefly-married Crist denies). A woman, a black man, a gay would be good. This is a 'come as you are' election, after all. Crist is the ideal Gleorge Clooney part. Crist is popular and hasn't put a political foot wrong. So much so that he's been on the receiving end of more wholesome rumours, that he is a potential running mate to John McCain. Given his popularity and trendily-conservative cache, he could be just the ticket. More so than poor old Eliot, washed up and with tried and convicted in the court of public opinion.
