LawFuel.co.nz is a new online legal jobs board – the only such service in New Zealand.

The service is part of LawFuel.com, which has been operating since 2001 and is one of the Net’s largest, pure-law newswires, handling news from many international law firms (Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance, DLA Piper etc) as well as many US legal agencies like the US Department of Justice (State attorney offices), the Internal Revenue Service, the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) and others.

The local service started at the end of last year and is focused purely on lawyers.  It receives traffic of around 300-500 per day.

The service also provides legal news and is constantly updated with news releases from law firms and legal agencies.  It therefore provides compelling content for lawyers – both updated jobs and updated law news.

It also carries its own law stories, which this year alone have been published by the NZ Press Association, the Scoop website, NZ Herald, Otago Daily Times and many other newspapers.

The site has around 400 candidates on its list, along with over 1200 local lawyer subscribers.  Email letters are sent weekly, which directs interest to the site constantly

The site also has the unique advantage of being able to obtain Google listings by sending stories, jobs and releases directly to Google, which is now the fourth largest news engine on the Web, ahead of major news sites like the BBC and CNN.

LawFuel has a high Net presence and is growing very fast, with major law firms like Bell Gully and AJ Parks already using the service, as well as a growing number of legal recruiters.

Because the site is focused purely on lawyers and associated legal work, it attracts ‘qualified’ or ‘filtered’ viewers who do not need to search generic jobs sites carries hundreds of jobs that are irrelevant to them.
