Corporate Lawyer - fixed term for approximately twelve months to cover parental leave

Are you a professional lawyer ready to demonstrate your ability in providing valuable and timely legal advice to Powerco's business?

We are looking for an experienced lawyer to assist Powerco in achieving its business objectives, reviewing and drafting quality contracts, providing general legal support to the business and maintaining strong relationships with Powerco's external legal advisors.  This role reports to the General Manager Operations Support and works with a wide range of people across Powerco's business. You will work independently with an objective and independent view, knowing when to escalate matters.

You will need:

• A law degree
• A minimum of four year's experience in a quality legal environment
• Proven communication skills and the ability to communicate legal advice to non-lawyers
• Previous knowledge of, or the ability to quickly understand, electricity and gas infrastructure issues
• To exercise sound commercial judgement and provide pragmatic advice quickly and concisely
• To be outcome focused
