Solicitor – Banking/Finance and Property

ASB is one of New Zealand’s most reputable financial services organisations. A superb opportunity is available within our Legal team for a banking and finance lawyer with extensive property and property finance experience to provide sound, timely and effective legal advice on a range of general retail and commercial lending matters to internal clients within the ASB Group.

This is a varied and challenging role in which you will utilise your strong relationship building skills by working in close partnership with core areas of the ASB Group. It is essential that you have general banking and finance experience and a background in property law (including drafting and negotiating leases and licences), excellent interpersonal skills, and your ability to manage relationships and expectations will prove critical to success. Ideally you will already have had experience acting for financial institutions.

In order to be successful in this role you will be admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand with 5 - 10 years PQE experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and impeccable time management skills are a must. You will be someone with commercial savvy and a strong customer service focus, be a team player, and have the ability to think outside the square.
