Chapman Tripp Principal Named As Leading International Arbitration Specialist

LawFuel - The Law Jobs and Legal NewsWire

12 October 2009 - Chapman Tripp Principal Daniel Kalderimis has been selected as one of the world’s pre-eminent commercial arbitration specialists by Global Arbitration Review’s International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration 2010.

The guide uses a rigorous peer-review research process to identify practitioners with a proven track record in international arbitral proceedings, either as counsel or arbitrator or as both. It will be officially launched mid-November 2009. Daniel was the only lawyer from a full-service firm to be included in the New Zealand chapter, and only six practitioners were recognised for all of New Zealand. By comparison, only three Australian practitioners were recognised.

Daniel rejoined Chapman Tripp as a Principal in March 2009, and leads the firm's international arbitration and trade law practice, which focuses on the Asia-Pacific region.
Daniel is a specialised advocate and has acted as counsel in several international arbitrations under major rules. He also appears as a barrister and solicitor in commercial litigation before New Zealand courts. He has particular experience with the LCIA, ICC, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules and has co-authored, with two of his former colleagues, a guide to the ICSID Convention and Arbitration Rules. He has worked on cross-border disputes involving corporate governance, fraud, oil and resource projects, technology and telecommunications, private equity and institutional investment.

Daniel is widely published in the field of international economic law and makes frequent presentations on new developments. He is a member of the LCIA, the International Bar Association, the International Law Association, the American Society of International Law and the Arbitrators and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand.
